We are looking for talented professionals to take leading roles as volunteer Associate Directors with the Tenderloin Equitable Development Project (“TEDP”). We believe passionate people interested in developing innovative community outreach can make permanent positive impact in San Francisco’s historically international and economically diverse Tenderloin neighborhood. We hope to hear from you!

TEDP Associate Directors are volunteers who engage directly with the volunteer Board of Directors of TEDP to design, develop and execute the strategic vision and tangible impacts of the organization. Associate Director, Partnerships & Affairs

TEDP is looking for a passionate, professional Associate Director, Partnerships & Affairs to develop and execute organization-building initiatives with the Partnerships & Affairs Committee of the Board of Directors of TEDP as a volunteer. The Associate Director, Partnerships & Affairs identifies and cultivates potential government, corporate, philanthropic and individual partners amenable to sharing platforms, people, and projects with TEDP to promote equitable development in the Tenderloin. Language ability in Vietnamese, Mandarin, Cantonese, Hindi, Urdu and/or Spanish a plus.

  • Identify key community stakeholders with platforms and people complementary to TEDP
  • Develop engagement proposals for key stakeholders on specific TEDP initiatives
  • Engage and execute partnerships with key stakeholders as instructed by Board of Directors

Associate Director, Finance & Fundraising

TEDP is looking for a passionate, professional Associate Director, Finance & Fundraising to develop and execute organization-building initiatives with the Finance & Fundraising Committee of the Board of Directors of TEDP as a volunteer. The Associate Director, Finance & Fundraising proposes and develops new revenue sources to extend and expand TEDP initiatives, while ensuring continued availability of funding to current and planned TEDP operations and obligations.

  • Identify potential new revenue sources from external partnerships and organizational assets
  • Propose, develop and submit funding proposals and grants in the six-figure range
  • Engage funders and launch revenue-generating initiatives as instructed by Board of Directors

Associate Director, Governance & Operations

TEDP is looking for a passionate, professional Associate Director, Governance & Operations to develop and execute organization-building initiatives with the Board of Directors of TEDP as a volunteer. The Associate Director, Governance & Operations advises the Board of Directors on effects of its potential actions both internally and externally, and improves operations to scale the impact of TEDP initiatives throughout the Tenderloin and its communities.

  • Assess legal exposure and/or organizational impact of potential action by Board of Directors
  • Develop governance policy and process to improve board and staff operations 
  • Engage and audit outside counsel and experts as instructed by Board of Directors

Associate Director, Strategy & Research

TEDP is looking for a passionate, professional Associate Director, Strategy & Research to develop and execute organization-building initiatives with the Strategy & Research Committee of the Board of Directors of TEDP as a volunteer. The Associate Director, Strategy & Research identifies potential structural and systemic issues facing the Tenderloin neighborhood and its people, and explores those issues with data-driven analysis.

  • Propose and execute research to assess neighborhood-wide socioeconomic issues
  • Analyze quantitative data to identify key social phenomena and their driving factors
  • Propose follow-on research or action based on sound data and reasoning

Associate Director, Marketing & Events

TEDP is looking for a passionate, professional Associate Director, Marketing & Events to develop and execute organization-building initiatives with the Marketing & Events Committee of the Board of Directors and the Executive Director of TEDP as a volunteer. The Associate Director, Marketing & Events identifies personal and digital outreach opportunities and launches community and partner engagement activities to grow the TEDP brand locally and beyond. Language ability in Vietnamese, Mandarin, Cantonese, Hindi, Urdu and/or Spanish a plus.

  • Develop robust assets for web, social and mobile engagement and internal communication
  • Launch special and recurring events for the Tenderloin community and TEDP partners
  • Publicize TEDP initiatives and activities through local and national media outlets
